About the day

This sailing begins at How Hill - an area dedicated to the conservation of Broads habitats. From How Hill, we sail down the River Ant where you'll get to see just how we get a wherry under Ludham Bridge. This is a beautiful area of the Broads, rich in birdlife. Keep your binoculars to hand! The journey continues along the River Bure, past Horning's bustling riverside and Wroxham's waterside houses, to the wherry base at Barton House.

This sailing will be aboard one of our three wherry yachts: Olive, Norada or White Moth. These surviving wherry yachts were all built by the Wroxham based boatbuilder and designer Ernest Collins. They spent over three decades within his hire fleet, followed by a period of mixed fortunes in private ownership after World War II, before they were reunited in 2012 by the Wherry Yacht Charter Charitable Trust.
