Stalham to Wroxham, aboard a Wherry Yacht

This sailing begins at the Museum of the Broads, Stalham, and heads down the river Ant, across Barton Broad and past How Hill, to Ludham Bridge where you'll get to see just how we get a wherry underneath it. Turning on to the Bure we head upstream, through the village of Horning and continue upriver, passing Salhouse and Wroxham Broads and Wroxham's waterside houses, to the wherry base at Barton House.

This sailing will be aboard one of our three wherry yachts: Olive, Norada or White Moth. These surviving wherry yachts were all built by the Wroxham based boatbuilder and designer Ernest Collins. They spent over three decades within his hire fleet, followed by a period of mixed fortunes in private ownership after World War II, before they were reunited in 2012 by the Wherry Yacht Charter Charitable Trust. 

Please park in the Wherry Yacht Charter car park at Barton House, Hartwell Road, Wroxham. NR12 8TL. A minibus will collect passengers at 8.25am and drive to Stalham, where your wherry will be moored, in time for a 9.00am departure. 

On board our crew will provide tea, coffee and squash, with biscuits, but please bring your own lunch and any other drinks/snacks that you require.

We operate on "wherry time", subject to wind and tide, and so our arrival time may not always be as advertised.
